Apricot Kernel Oil

Apricot Kernel Oil
Botanical name:  Prunis Armenica

Apricot Kernel Oil has a very faint smell. One of the reasons that it is great for aromatherapy massage is its almost non-existent smell that does not compete with any scents from essential oils. If you detect a strong smell than your Apricot Kernel Oil has gone rancid and needs to be thrown out.

The color of the Apricot Kernel Oil can run from slightly clear to very pale yellow and can sometimes be a slightly darker yellow than sweet almond oil.

Apricot Kernel Oil can be used 100% as a carrier oil or can be blended with other carrier oils.

This oil is extracted from the apricot kernel. It has a shelf life of about 6 to 12 months depended on the quality of storage. You can refrigerate to prolong it's shelf life.

Apricot Kernel OIl is rich in minerals and vitamins, especially vitamins; A, B, and E.
This oil is suitable for all skins and especially nourishing for dry, inflamed, mature, sensitive skins. It can assist in healing and rejuvenating the skin cells and it is common to be used in facial creams, tonics, massage oil blends, and cosmetics.

Apricot Kernel Oil has a light texture, with a silky kind of feel and is absorbed fairly quickly into the skin. If you find that is absorbs too quickly you can blend it with another carrier oil to slow down the absorption rate.
